The President of Issue Management, Inc. is currently serving as the Senior Vice President and Campaign Manager for U.S. Public Affairs at Hill & Knowlton (add link to www.HillandKnowlton.com). He brings the entire IMI network and suite of services to H&K, and now performs all his work through H&K.
Those services include the entire suite of tools available for building successful policy initiatives. The aim is to leverage years of relationships with dozens of service providers into the power to win legislative, executive, and regulatory battles. We can help craft the most appropriate strategies, recommend the ideal tactics to put those strategies into practice, build out the tactics once the approach is set, turn to the most finely-tuned expertise available on your particular challenge, and execute the plan seamlessly.
Specifically, we can coordinate:
- Generating Earned Media
- Mobilizing Grassroots Support
- Building and Managing Coalitions
- Generating and Promoting Studies
- Identifying Sympathetic Experts
- Recruiting Third Party, Industry, and Ideological Allies
- Message Development and Writing Support
- Polling to Gauge the Issue Environment and Change the Political Environment
- Research Efforts including Opposition Research and Intelligence Gathering
- Designing and Running Paid Media Campaigns
- Tapping Internet Support (Webtools, Social Networking, Cell Texting, Podcasting, Blogging, etc.)
- Lobbying Key Decision-Makers
We can integrate any or all these service providers, providing a single point of contact, unified reporting tailored to internal audiences, message discipline across the entire campaign, and extraordinary decision-making speed and implementation.
We draw on experience working at the local, state, federal, and international levels, and can deploy resources for you at any of them. At the state and local level, we can work toward persuading county boards, city councils, state legislators, Governor’s offices, and state regulatory agencies of your positions. At the federal level, we can help urge targeted Members of Congress or Administration decision-makers to take your view, as well as deploying state assets to bring local voices to bear in the debate. And at the international level, we can run tightly-targeted operations aimed at swaying specific diplomatic personnel, bureaucratic functionaries, or transnational meeting attendees; or we can wage long-term campaigns of persuasion in country capitals and among the leaders that ultimately will steer the outcomes that interest you.
